Hood

In 2003 I was diagnosed with a disease that threatened to effect my vital organs. "Hood" is a work that processed my feelings at that time. The Hood represented a covering of my condition to protect me from the outside world. The maps represent my journey ahead, feeling lost and trying to find a way through. Thankfully I am now free from it as I refused to define myself as sick person. I hope this painting offers hope. No one has the power to dictate our futures more than ourselves.
